BYD, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing EV brands, is coming to New Zealand and we’re delighted to confirm we are opening dealerships in Hamilton, Wellington and Tauranga.

BYD may be a new name to Kiwis, but it is an established giant of the industry, outselling Tesla worldwide in Jan 2022 and predicting total sales of between 1.5m – 2m electric vehicles globally in 2022.

Backed by Warren Buffet, styled by former Audi Global Head of Design, Wolfgang Egger, and powered by the game-changing “blade” battery, BYD is tipped to make a huge impact in the EV space.

The ATTO 3 SUV will be the first model launched on these shores and initial vehicles will be available for test drive in July.  Retail stock follows closely behind with deliveries from August onwards.

How does ATTO 3 Compare with other EVs?

The ATTO 3 comes in two models – Standard (320km range) and Extended (420km range). Here’s how they compare to other leading EVs in New Zealand.

Combining extremely impressive specs with an aggressive pricing model (the ATTO 3 launches at $52,990+orc PLUS it qualifies for the clean car rebate of $8,625), it’s expected that there will be a huge amount of initial interest in this game-changing vehicle.

Available in two variants, Standard (320km WLTP range) and Extended (420km WLTP range), the ATTO 3 offers a more powerful battery (49.92 kWh / 60.48 kWh) and higher performance (0-100 km/h in 7.3s) than most of the competitors in its class, and all for a significant saving on price.

It also comes with a bumper-to-bumper 6-year/ 150,000km* warranty, 6 years of roadside assistance, and a huge 8-year/ 160,000km* EV Traction Battery warranty.

All of this should ensure its place on the shortlist of those in the EV SUV market.
